The Department of Teacher Education, Manipur University (MU) successfully concluded a Two-Day National Workshop on “Advanced Research Methodology and Publication of Research Papers” on 30th and 31st January 2026.
The workshop was organised at the Auditorium Hall of the Department of Teacher Education with the aim of providing faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students with advanced conceptual understanding and practical training in research methodology and high-quality academic publishing.
The inaugural session on January 30 was graced by Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Lokendra Singh as Chief Guest. He stressed the critical role of quality teaching and research in knowledge creation, highlighting the importance of NEP 2020, the National Research Foundation (NRF), and the need for research to address the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for meaningful societal impact.

Prof. Memcha Loitongbam, Dean, School of Social Sciences, Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, Director of the Research and Development Cell, and other senior academicians also addressed the participants, emphasising methodological rigour, ethical research practices, and the importance of publishing in reputed journals.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Koijam Sobita Devi, Convenor of the workshop, who outlined the programme’s objective to enhance research competencies using advanced research methodology among participants.
Technical sessions covered key areas including research design, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, academic writing, research ethics, plagiarism prevention, journal selection, and strategies for successful publication. External experts also conducted sessions on research topic selection, tool development, and standardisation.
The valedictory session was attended by eminent academicians including Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Former Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University, and other senior faculty from Manipur University and Tripura University.
A total of 160 participants attended the workshop on this advanced research methodology, which concluded with a strong emphasis on methodological excellence, research ethics, and the need for high-impact, socially relevant research.
