The Rotary Club of Imphal, a part of Rotary International District 3240, has installed a Rotary Baby Care Booth at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) in Imphal as a part of its 50th Club Chartered Day celebration on April 12.
The inauguration and handover of the booth to JNIMS was done by Dr. Kh Lokeshwar Singh, the Medical Superintendent of JNIMS.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by M Harekrishna, IAS, Commissioner of the Government of Manipur; Dr. N Kameshore Singh, HOD, Department of Pediatrics, JNIMS; Rtn Pramod Jaiswal, President of Rotary Club Imphal, along with members of the club and staff of JNIMS. Rtn Robinson Meikam sponsored the Rotary Baby Care Booth.
Dr. Kh Lokeshwar Singh expressed his gratitude towards the Rotary Club of Imphal and highlighted that the newly installed booth would be beneficial for both mothers and babies attending the Outpatient Department (OPD) at JNIMS. He urged all members of the Rotary Club of Imphal to continue serving the community through various service projects.
Rtn Pramod Jaiswal, while speaking at the occasion, emphasized that the club is celebrating its 50th Chartered Day today, and it has been 50 years that the club has been doing various service projects to help uplift the community.
He also extended his best wishes and congratulated the Rotary Club of Imphal on its golden jubilee year celebration.
The Rotary Baby Care Booth at JNIMS is expected to serve as a safe and hygienic space for mothers to take care of their infants while they visit the hospital for treatment or check-ups.

It is equipped with amenities like diaper changing tables, breastfeeding chairs, and other necessary facilities to help mothers take care of their babies with ease.
The Rotary Club of Imphal has been actively involved in various service projects in the region, such as providing clean drinking water, promoting literacy, and organizing health camps.
The installation of the Rotary Baby Care Booth at JNIMS is another step towards fulfilling the club’s commitment to serving the community.
