RPF/PLA Condoles the Demise of its Cadre, Henthoiba

Imphal/ January 30, 2025 (SPN)| The Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) and its armed wing, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), have expressed their condolences for the loss of one of their cadre, Henthoiba.

According to a press release issued by the outfit’s Assistant Secretary of Publicity, Bangkim, Henthoiba was killed during an attack allegedly orchestrated by the Indian Army’s Special Forces on January 27, 2025.

In a statement honouring Henthoiba’s selfless sacrifice, the RPF mourned his death and offered a revolutionary salute to the fallen comrade. The RPF and PLA also extended their solidarity to his family, relatives, and friends, acknowledging the profound loss they are experiencing.

Recognizing his bravery and dedication, the RPF posthumously promoted Henthoiba to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Known as Nganba Meetei, Henthoiba was the youngest of three siblings, born to Salam Inaobi Meetei and Salam (Ongbi) Ibecha Leima in Komnao Makha Leikai, Kakching district.

Nganba Meetei completed his basic military training with the PLA on September 20, 2023, and was assigned the army number A-3362. Upon joining the RPF/PLA, Henthoiba expressed his commitment to the liberation of Manipur from what he called foreign occupation, as per the outfit’s statements.

Nganba Meetei’s athleticism, skill, and talents earned him a position as a training instructor, where he excelled after undergoing an instructor course. His contributions as an instructor at a PLA training center were noted by the organization.

Described as a calm, composed, and diligent combatant, 2nd Lt Henthoiba was driven by a strong sense of discipline and worked tirelessly in every unit and department where he was posted. He remained unwavering in his duties until his last breath, dedicated to the people’s liberation movement, according to the media statement released by RPF.
