Niall Horan, the renowned solo artist set to embark on a 2024 tour, is best known for his solo career. However, he first rose to fame as a member of the mega boy band One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and former member Zayn Malik.
Recently, Niall Horan took on the role of a judge on The Voice US. During one episode of the show, he shared a delightful story about the first time he met the reality TV sensation Kim Kardashian and her daughter North.
Niall recounted this memorable encounter, which took place during his One Direction days, at the backstage of an Ariana Grande concert. It was a time when the boy band was at the pinnacle of its popularity.
Kim Kardashian, the star of The Kardashians, approached Niall with her daughter North and introduced him to the young girl in a rather unconventional manner.
Niall humorously revealed during the season premiere of The Voice, “The merchandise did incredibly well, guys! The first time I met Kim Kardashian, I was backstage at an Ariana Grande concert. She brought North West, her daughter, over, and this is how she introduced North to me: she said, ‘North, this is the guy who sings from your toothbrush!'”
The “Heaven” hitmaker joined the judging panel of the popular NBC reality competition show last year, coinciding with long-time judge Blake Shelton stepping down from his role. Niall expressed how much he misses Blake and how grateful he was for the opportunity to work alongside him.
He shared with Entertainment Tonight, “Of course I miss Blake. I’m glad I was there for his final season. I got to learn from him and share a few laughs along the way.”
Niall now sits on the judging panel alongside Blake’s wife, Gwen Stefani, as well as John Legend and Reba McEntire. Interestingly, Gwen Stefani revealed that Niall and her husband, Blake Shelton, have developed a close friendship outside of the show, often spending time together at their Oklahoma ranch.
She mentioned, “Whenever he’s in town, he’s like, ‘Can I come over?’ They’ve become great friends. He’s welcome anytime; they would have a blast!”
