Bishnupur, September 14: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bishnupur Vibhag, held a Prominent Citizens’ Meeting at the Gopinath Mandir Guest House in Ningthoukhong on Sunday. Around 50 people attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Khwairakpa Rajen Singh, Karyawah of RSS Assam Kshetra, spoke about the organisation’s 100-year journey and its social goals. He outlined the Panch Parivartan, five areas of social transformation promoted as part of the RSS centenary celebrations: social harmony, family awakening, environmental protection, self-reliance and selfhood, and civic duty.
Rajen Singh said good laws and government policies alone could not bring about the desired change unless citizens also acted responsibly. A society needs peaceful, disciplined and civic-minded people to progress and live in harmony, he said, urging citizens to take part in building a stronger society.
N. Indubushan Singh, president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Manipur Prant, attended the programme as chief guest.
