Imphal (SPN) | The upcoming ShiRock2023 festival is all set to make waves in the music scene with the inclusion of two international bands, “Orphaned Land” from Israel and Bon Jovi tribute band “Bon Giovi” from the UK.

The ShiRock festival, which is a part of the state-level Shirui Lily Festival, will be held in Ukhrul town from May 17 to May 20 and is being managed by 7 Sisters Foundation.

Sources reveal that the event organizers of ShiRock2023 have confirmed all flights and arrangements for “Bon Giovi”, who will be opening the festival on May 17. Visa arrangements have also been secured for the band.

While advance payments for both international bands have been completed, the Visa for “Orphaned Land” is yet to be sorted. However, sources claim that everything is expected to be resolved by Monday or Tuesday.

The festival is expected to be a major success, with the organizers leaving no stone unturned to make it a memorable experience for the audience.

The 7 Sisters Foundation has already incurred expenses of over Rs 35 lakh, as the state government has not yet sanctioned any funds for the festival.

From flight tickets to visa applications, booking for bands, and more, the event managers have taken care of everything themselves, not wanting to wait for government funds.

The ShiRock2023 promises to be an exciting event for rock music enthusiasts with various bands lined up for the opening day. Local bands like The Family Band (Imphal) and 1 BHK (Ukhrul, 2022’s runners-up) will perform before the headliner, “Bon Giovi”.

The Local Night event on May 18 will feature a performance by Pune-based Zyphertone ahead of the headliner. On May 19, various bands from all over the country, such as Still Water (Sikkim), Agni (Mumbai), Inner Sanctum (Bangalore), and Rajesh Nepali (Kathmandu), will perform.

The festival will come to a close on May 20, with performances by Featherheads (Ukhrul), Arogya (Assam), and two other bands, followed by the headliner, “Orphaned Land”.

The event promises to be a memorable one for music lovers, with the inclusion of international bands, local bands, and various other bands from across the country. The organizers are leaving no stone unturned to make the event a grand success.
